This post-war Thornbury bungalow was, to put things delicately, a ‘renter's delight’. Faced with a compact footprint and skin-tight budget, we reworked all the primary areas of the home to boost available space and increase functionality, paying careful attention to our clients’ current lifestyle needs and likely future requirements. We also ensured that all character and period elements were protected or reintroduced. We even rescued the beautiful post-war timber beams much to the delight of our clients. These balanced beautifully with new contemporary features like deeply veined natural stone and terrazzo, deep-toned oak flooring and custom joinery. The addition of a softly toned curated art, object and furnishings collection further enriched the homes’ modern transformation.
