We find Victorian weatherboards inherently charming. However, this Seddon gem had been totally gutted, save for the original front facade. Our brief was to design and build a new light-filled home that would maximise the tight site. Whilst working meticulously to re-instate the two front-facing principal rooms, we crafted a sympathetic and spacious, two-storey, timer-clad extension that houses a third bedroom and home office. Expansive open plan living extends to the great outdoors, drawing in much-needed natural light through large glazed openings. A textured palette of red brick, rough-cut bluestone and burnished metal, dark timber veneer, whitewashed oak floors, grey terrazzo and Japanese hand-crafted tiles add tonal variety and texture to the interiors.
